Aberdeen’s Global Equities Team now have a successful track record on the Aberdeen World Equity fund dating back to 2002, most recently successfully navigating the banking crisis whilst other global funds faltered. The team select stocks from a buylist comprising the portfolios of Aberdeen’s regional funds, so investors should note that commonality with those funds will be high. They compare these stocks across regions and sectors in search of valuation anomalies before forming the portfolio.
In 2009 the team took over the management of the Aberdeen World Growth and Income fund, previously a Credit Suisse fund - investors should note that the fund’s track record prior to that is under Credit Suisse managers. The fund will now largely replicate the equity portfolio of Murray International Investment Trust, which has produced strong since it was taken over by the team in 2004. The fund targets an above average yield and suits investors looking to diversify their equity income exposure away from the UK.
Aberdeen World Growth & Income have been awarded 4 stars. Murray International has been awarded 3 stars.
