Blackrock UK Income has been upgraded to 5 Stars.
The manager Nick McLeod-Clark, who is also the Managing Director of BlackRock’s UK Equity Team, has consistently managed to produce capital growth and a yield of greater than 3.5% during the three years that he has managed the fund through investing in the FTSE 350. During his tenure he has achieved top decile performance. Prior to this he has a 5 year institutional track record.
McLeod-Clark employs a focused approach to Equity Income investing and utilises a barbell strategy. One portion of the fund is concentrated on companies that produce a stable and growing dividend with the remainder focused on those likely to achieve significant capital growth.
Due to this strategy the fund offers investors some diversification from stocks usually held in UK Equity Income funds. However, we do not advise that clients own both BlackRock UK Dynamic and BlackRock UK Income as by name there is roughly 50% commonality across the two portfolios.
