Anthony Nutt is an experienced fund manager, and although he has a good outperformance record during the 10.5 years he has managed Jupiter Income his performance record has deteriorated in recent years. This has been the result of the fund not fully participating in the ‘dash for trash’ rally in 2009 and the manager targeting out of favour blue chip companies. Whilst this area of the market might represent good value we have higher conviction in other fund managers to deliver consistent outperformance in the future.
The fund has been downgraded to two stars.
Other equity income funds to consider which are also targeting quality large cap stocks at the moment include Artemis Income and Invesco Perpetual Income.
