SGAM to set new Japan marker with Harker
By MARCEL PORCHERON 24/01/2006
Stephen Harker has taken over Société Générale Asset Management's (SGAM) Japan fund following the departure of Neiloy Ghosh last week. SGAM have confirmed that since taking over the fund, Harker has increased its concentration in large-caps.
Going forwards the fund will typically hold 50-70 stocks and will be renamed SG Japan Core Alpha to reflect the greater focus on large-caps. Ghosh had been part of the management team on the fund since April 2001. He did not have a sufficient identifiable track record for a Bestinvest rating.
Recommendation
This fund was not rated by Bestinvest since Ghosh did not have a sufficient identifiable track record.
