Resolution Argonaut European Income Fund - New Rating
By GIDEON MARGO 03/04/2006
Oliver Russ manages this fund in a similar fashion to the European Alpha Fund with a focus on earnings surprise. The only difference being the appetite for income.
The manager believes income exists in three key areas. Firstly, the traditional high-yielding value stocks, where the dividend is high and sustainable. Secondly, in growth companies where earnings, and subsequently dividend payouts, may grow substantially. Finally in special situations, whose balance sheets permit them to pay higher dividends, or otherwise return capital to shareholders via dividends.
One of, if not, the only European Income Funds available, this makes for an interesting proposition. The fund is awarded an initial 3 star rating.
