The fund invests in a portfolio of around 60 stocks focused exclusively on medium sized companies in the UK market. Manager Paul Spencer’s investment style is one of stock selection on the basis of fundamental analysis, with a bias towards growth. He undertakes detailed proprietary research into the companies and their markets and builds the portfolio around quality companies on attractive valuations.
Whilst Spencer has only managed this fund since February 2006, he has a good long term track record specialising in medium and smaller companies since 1987. In addition, he is supported by a strong UK equity team and this gives us the confidence to award the fund a new 3 star rating.
