BlackRock (Merrill Lynch) UK Absolute Alpha Fund P- New rating

We have extended our buy rating from the A class to the P class units of this fund in light of the revised charging structure that Blackrock has applied to the P class units. Bestinvest opposed the original charging structure introduced on this class of the fund’s units. However, these charges have now been revised to increase the annual charge to 1.5% whilst the performance fee has been revised down to 20% of outperformance of a benchmark equivalent to cash. We believe that these terms are favourable in light of the performance characteristics we expect from the fund. Investors can now also deal in the fund daily through the fund supermarkets from Monday 3rd September.
