Schroder Japan Growth IT - manager change
By MARCEL PORCHERON 12/11/2007
The Board of SJG has announced that management of the Trust has been handed to Andrew Rose with immediate effect. The trust was previously managed by Donald Farquharson in a similar style to Rose’s open ended fund, Schroder Tokyo, which we rate 3 stars. Schroders have explained that the change is the result of a rationalisation of the Japanese equity process to Tokyo. We would expect the change to have little immediate impact on the existing portfolio although the trust will be brought more into line with the views of the new manager - Schroders have informed us that Farquharson and Rose are currently working together on the portfolio.
Recommendation
Since we already rate Rose on Schroder Tokyo we see no reason to change our 3 star rating for the time being.
