Jonathan Asante assumes lead on First State GEMs Funds

On the 1st January 2008, Jonathan Asante, existing co Head of Emerging Markets at First State, assumed the lead management role for the First State Global Emerging Markets funds in place of Angus Tulloch. Day to day Tulloch remains involved in stock selection and portfolio construction in these funds.
Recommendation
We will be meeting Jonathan Asante within the next few weeks to clarify the effective changes. At this juncture we do not envisage an immediate change to our rating of the funds.
