Bentley drives away from Allianz by Anton French
On the 1st of November 2007, Allianz announced that Peter Bentley had left the company, passing on management of their Sterling Total Return fund and the PIMCO UK Corporate Bond fund to Michael Amey with immediate effect. Amey joined Allianz in September 2003 as a Senior Vice President for Sterling Fixed Income portfolios, having previously been head of fixed income at Rothschild and latterly Insight after the merger. Since joining the group he has managed the Allianz PIMCO Gilt Yield fund. No news has been announced regarding Bentley’s next step.

Recommendation

We have suspended the 2 star rating on this fund following this change. Investors seeking a hybrid bond fund with a similar asset allocation should consider Invesco Perpetual Corporate Bond, currently rated 4 stars.
