Investec Global Energy - management brought in house

Investec Global Energy - management brought in house by Tom White
The management of Investec’s Global Energy fund, previously outsourced to Tim Guinness at Guinness Asset Management, has been brought in house with effect from the start of March. The fund is now run by Mark Lacey and Jonathan Waghorn, who joined Investec in February from Goldman Sachs where they were joint heads of the energy research desk. Investec say the new managers will be introducing a broader range of instruments to counter the sector’s volatile nature. Guinness had run the fund since launch in 2004 as well as its offshore equivalent since 1997, and is believed to now be planning his own global energy fund.
