Doyle swapped for Dudding
By JANE KOTCHKINA 01/07/2008
Following disappointing performance over the last year the Threadneedle European Select fund is changing hands again. Paul Doyle, who has only been managing the fund since September 2007, is reportedly looking for other opportunities within the industry. As of 1st July 2008 the fund is headed by Dave Dudding, whose Threadneedle European Smaller Companies fund is rated 4* by Bestinvest. According to Threadneedle, the European Select fund will now look to combine both large and small cap ideas. William Davies, who served as Doyle’s deputy, remains the deputy manager for the fund.
Recommendation
Bestinvest does not currently rate this fund and new manager Dave Dudding has no track record in the Europe ex UK sector. Our recommended funds in the sector include Schroder European Alpha Plus, Jupiter European and Resolution Argonaut European Alpha.
