Throgmorton Trust moves to BlackRock
Throgmorton Trust have annnounced that BlackRock will be taking over as their investment managers with effect from 1st July, replacing Axa Framlington. The portfolio will be run by Mike Prentis, manager of BlackRock Smaller Companies Trust plc, and Richard Plackett, head of BlackRock's UK small/mid cap team. The fund had been run by AXA Framlington’s Chris St John since February following the departure of former manager Roger Whiteoak.
Recommendation
The BlackRock team are highly regarded in the small cap space, with Plackett’s UK Special Situations fund already rated 4 stars by Bestinvest. We will be meeting the new managers shortly, but in the meantime have suspended Throgmorton Trust’s 2 star rating in accordance with standard policy.
