Mike Gush is the new lead for Baillie Gifford Pacific

By JANE KOTCHKINA 02/02/2009

Mike Gush is the new lead for Baillie Gifford Pacific by Jane Kotchkina
Gerald Smith is passing on the responsibility for Baillie Gifford Pacific to Mike Gush in what Baillie Gifford feel is a natural course of action. Gush has been co-manager for the fund since July 2008 and has been working with Gerald Smith on the management of the Emerging Markets portfolios for institutional clients since summer 2006. Gush has also taken over Pacific Horizon Investment Trust

Recommendation

As per our company policy we have removed the 2* rating from Baillie Guilford Pacific fund. The new manager, Mike Gush, does not qualify for a Bestinvest rating. We recommend investors switch into one of our rated funds, which include Invesco Perpetual Asian.
