Burvill steps down from Gartmore UK Equity Income - rating removed
Gartmore have announced that Chris Burvill is stepping down as manager of their UK Equity Income fund. Burvill, who had been running the fund since 2003, will remain in charge of the Gartmore Cautious Managed fund. His replacement is Dan Roberts, who will join Gartmore in July after 6 years at Aviva.
Recommendation
In view of the change of manager we have removed our two star rating on this fund. New manager Dan Roberts has a creditable record in the IMA UK Equity Income sector, having achieved average monthly outperformance of 0.15% over a 3.7 year track record. However, we have higher conviction in alternative funds in the sector - these include Threadneedle UK Equity Income, Artemis Income and Standard Life Equity High Income.
