Artemis Strategic Assets - new rating
A UCITs III unit trust with hedge fund characteristics. This fund seeks to beat cash and the FTSE All-Share over three years. It intends to participate in rising markets and to offer protection in falling markets. Never before have Artemis given a single manager such free investment reign. The manager, William Littlewood has the power to invest in equities, bonds, cash, currencies and commodities (via ETFs / ETCs). Littlewood has the power to short, although will never be net short of equities. Littlewood has previously run one of the most successful Equity income portfolios of all time, however we must stress that his experience in running a portfolio with such wide remit is limited to a private hedge fund where performance was exceptionally volatile. Investors should treat the MRI with a degree of caution, the index used in the calculation is the HFRX Macro index. Macro funds vary considerably in terms of asset classes, method of trade implementation, leverage and instruments used. As such performance across the macro hedge fund index is far more disperse than their long only peers.
