Credit Suisse investors reunited with Bill Mott by Tom White

On 1st August Premier Asset Management took over the management of a number of the former Credit Suisse funds recently acquired by Aberdeen. Following the change, management of the Aberdeen Income, Aberdeen Monthly Income, Aberdeen Alpha Income and Aberdeen Alpha Growth funds has been passed to Bill Mott of PSigma.

Mott previously worked at Credit Suisse and was manager of the Income and Alpha Income funds between 1989 and 2003. The funds retain the Aberdeen name for the moment but will be rebranded to Premier in October.

Recommendation

Mott has a creditable record in the UK Equity Income sector, with average monthly outperformance of 0.21% and a career MRI of 98.9% over a 16.4 year track record. Whilst investors should be relieved the funds are in a safe pair of hands, we have higher conviction in our rated funds in the sector. These include Threadneedle UK Equity Income and Artemis Income.
