Allan Liu is a growth-style manager with over 14 years experience in the sector. His career MRI record is 97.9%, rising to 99.5% over the last 3 years. At the end of 2008 the manager repositioned his portfolio into more defensive sectors, which helped performance. During 2009, he turned more aggressive as growth opportunities became available in the market. Liu’s outlook is cautious and he does not expect a fast recovery. He is currently overweight financials and plays the Asian consumer theme.
As Liu’s portfolio remains liquid despite the large fund size and his management style is becoming more favoured by the market, we have decided to upgrade our rating to 4 stars.
