Jupiter Absolute Return – New Rating

By JOHN DAVEY 14/12/2009

Jupiter Absolute Return – New Rating by John Davey

The Jupiter Absolute Return fund seeks to generate positive returns independent of market conditions by investing on a global basis. The portfolio will be unconstrained in terms of global market sectors and investment strategies but will focus on the manager's area of expertise (Financials). Derivatives will be used where appropriate and will include sector swaps, contracts for differences and futures in order to protect capital. The fund applies a 15% performance fee for returns above 3 month LIBOR, subject to a high water mark. The objectives and strategies are similar to the manager's long/short hedge fund, Jupiter Hyde Park, however the Jupiter Absolute Return fund is expected to be less volatile. The Jupiter Absolute Return fund is awarded a 4 star ‘buy’ rating.
