Bestinvest says

Tony Nutt is one of the most experienced UK equity fund managers operating in the UK market today and has established a good track record. Despite the large size of the portfolio, the manager is prepared to diverge markedly from the index in the search for above average returns, which can lead to periods of underperformance, whilst his view is out of tune with the market as a whole. Therefore investors should be prepared to take a long term view with this fund.

Investment process

The fund's aim is to produce a high income from a portfolio invested mostly in UK equities. There can be some fixed interest and overseas exposure. Investments in fixed interest and convertibles, mainly in the UK, are for the purposes of generating yield. Although Nutt aims to outperform the FTSE All Share, absolute returns are also a consideration so he may take defensive positions on occasion. Investments are made across the market capitalisation spectrum. The Jupiter UK team's sector views and other points arising from internal discussion will also affect portfolio strategy.

The value of your investments and the income from them can go down as well as up, and you can get back less than you originally invested. Past performance or any yields quoted should not be considered reliable indicators of future returns. Before investing in funds please check the specific risk factors on the key features document or refer to our risk warning notice as some funds can be high risk or complex; they may also have risks relating to the geographical area, industry sector and/or underlying assets in which they invest.
