Investment process

The objective of the Collingham Investment Fund is to achieve annual net returns in the region of 10-15% per annum, with low volatility, by investing in a carefully selected portfolio of underlying hedge funds that have a low level of correlation with each other.
Collingham use their experience of trading and managing hedge funds to form a 12-18 month view of how the markets are likely to behave, identify the strategies which are likely to perform best within this environment, and subsequently select those managers they believe are able to offer an investment edge within the respective strategy. Consequently the resulting overall portfolio's directional or non directional market bias may vary according to prevailing market conditions.
The portfolio will always be structured to maintain a reasonable level of diversification by manager and strategy; at all times the portfolio will have some exposure to the following core strategies: Fixed Income Arbitrage; Equity Relative Value/Arbitrage; Long-Short Equity; Directional Trading (mainly Global Macro and Systems Trading) and Specialist Credit. The manager will not use leverage at the portfolio level.
