Overview of FIDELITY PORTFOLIO

Funds of funds which can only invest in internal funds generally suffer from limited scope but Fidelity's wide product range and the above average quality of the underlying managers mean this is less of an issue. This fund has a bias to the UK and circa 20% fixed interest component.

Investment process

This fund aims to achieve above average capital growth through investment in a wide range of Fidelity's OEIC sub-funds which cover markets throughout the world.
A fund of internal funds is the approach thus taken, with a resulting balanced, medium risk portfolio.
Asset allocation is in line with the house style and does not deviate markedly from its internal benchmark.
The fund manager feels that 70% of the value is added through successful stock picking from the underlying fund managers but 20% comes from fund selection and 10% from asset allocation. Therefore 30% is derived from the manager. Skelt will alter the weights of the underlying managers in order to best exploit their style bias, i.e. value or growth.

The value of your investments and the income from them can go down as well as up, and you can get back less than you originally invested. Past performance or any yields quoted should not be considered reliable indicators of future returns. Before investing in funds please check the specific risk factors on the key features document or refer to our risk warning notice as some funds can be high risk or complex; they may also have risks relating to the geographical area, industry sector and/or underlying assets in which they invest. Prevailing tax rates and relief are dependent on your individual circumstances and are subject to change.
