Overview of F&C PROGRESSIVE GROWTH 1

A fund of zeros focusing on the quality end of the market. Generally holding the securities to maturity the turnover is likely to be low and hence the input of the manager will be minimal. Interesting options on the product make this attractive to investors seeking a steady stream of income.

Investment process

The fund aims to provide long term capital growth by primarily investing in Zero Dividend Preference shares, but the fund may also invest in other lower risk securities.
The portfolio will include a wide range of Zeros with high returns and acceptable cover and will be actively managed to deliver added value through capital growth. Focusing on the quality end of the market in order to avoid the any repeat of the recent turmoil in the split cap market.
The aim is to invest in 'blue chip' Zeros which offer realisic and sustainable returns. The fund will not target Zeros which invest in the shares of other Split Capital Trusts or those Zeros which rely on high levels of gearing.

NOTE: The fund has an attractive Income withdrawal option which allows Investors to receive income in the form of a Capital Gain. The minimum monthly withdrawal is £40 and income can be taken quarterly, half yearly or annually. Since the portfolio will be low risk, this might provide an additional option for low risk income seekers.

The value of your investments and the income from them can go down as well as up and you can get back less than you originally invested. Any yields quoted cannot be taken as a reliable indicator of future returns. Before investing in funds please check the specific risk factors on the key features document or refer to our risk warning notice as some funds can be high risk or complex. Prevailing tax rates and relief are dependent on your individual circumstances and are subject to change.
