Overview of SWIP CAPITAL

A large fund of international equities with a strong UK bias. The managers will be able to call on the whole of SWIPs research base to provide bottom up stock selection but a very large number of stocks raises concerns over the discipline of the team and the value being added over exposure from a tracker.

Investment process

This fund can take advantage of the proprietary research tools employed by Scottish Widows Investment Partnership on many of their other funds, meaning that stock selection will primarily be on a bottom-up, research driven basis. Particular focus in the research on stocks is given to long-term industry dynamics, valuation and short term catalysts. The investment mandate is to achieve capital growth through investment in equities with income being of secondary importance and the performance target is to come above 40th percentile in the sector over each discreet year.

The value of your investments and the income from them can go down as well as up, and you can get back less than you originally invested. Past performance or any yields quoted should not be considered reliable indicators of future returns. Before investing in funds please check the specific risk factors on the key features document or refer to our risk warning notice as some funds can be high risk or complex; they may also have risks relating to the geographical area, industry sector and/or underlying assets in which they invest. Prevailing tax rates and relief are dependent on your individual circumstances and are subject to change.
