Investment process

This portfolio is managed for total return investing in both Japan and the Far East. Fund manager Stuart Parks has overall responsibility for the fund determining the asset allocation split between Japan and the Far East. Paul Chesson provides the Japanese stocks, although due to Parks' background in covering Japanese equities his knowledge of both the macro and micro environment is strong.
Parks seeks to gain the correct asset split through a thorough study of the macroeconomic situation. Once this has been achieved it will be reflected through stock selection. The manager uses the tried and tested methods of P/E and P/BK ratios for valuation following a pragmatic approach to investment.
