Bestinvest says
Invesco Perpetual's UK desk is of the opinion that UK economic growth will continue to be slow for the foreseeable future. Therefore, the fund currently has a bias to more defensive, blue-chip companies with strong balance sheets. Whilst this view has started to pay off more recently we have higher conviction in other funds in the IMA UK Equity Income sector. However, investors sharing this view, may wish to consider Invesco Perpetual Income, managed by the highly experienced Neil Woodford.
The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of shares with a mix of small and large cap companies. The investment approach is pragmatic, embracing value (cheap companies in relation to assets) and growth (companies growing faster than the market average) styles. Stock selection is based mainly on bottom up fundamental analysis, i.e. much time is spent analysing a company in its own right with the macro economic (global economic influences) backdrop providing context for company analysis. Company analysis focuses on proven / understandable business models, sustainable cash flows, ability to enhance shareholder value and ability to grow dividends.
