Overview of ABERDEEN JAPAN GROWTH A

This concentrated portfolio of mostly large cap equities is run by Graeme Sinclair based in Singapore. Prior to the merger with the large Aberdeen fund this was a small and strong performing Murray Johnstone fund. However, since joining Aberdeen, Sinclair seems to have been unable to replicate earlier strong performance.

Investment process

The fund objective is consistent growth through investment in mostly large cap Japanese equities. They seek to hold growth companies that stand at reasonable valuations, offering potential for future gains considering the current market environment.
Through a screening process they identify companies they wish to meet and following a review/evaluation, an investment decision will be made. These decisions are made with a medium to long term investment horizon. The focused portfolio seeks to contain companies that demonstrate quality management, sound business models, strong balance sheets and high return on assets/capital.

The value of your investments and the income from them can go down as well as up, and you can get back less than you originally invested. Past performance or any yields quoted should not be considered reliable indicators of future returns. Before investing in funds please check the specific risk factors on the key features document or refer to our risk warning notice as some funds can be high risk or complex; they may also have risks relating to the geographical area, industry sector and/or underlying assets in which they invest. Prevailing tax rates and relief are dependent on your individual circumstances and are subject to change.
