Overview of ROYAL LONDON FAR EAST GROWTH

The fund has shown strong performance under its present fund manager, Dr E.Chan who has been managing the fund since 1996. The fund is managed aggressively and in 99/00 it benefited from targeting tech stocks. Although long term performance has been very good, Royal London are lacking in Far Eastern resources compared to a number of institutions.

Investment process

The investment objective of the fund is to maximise capital growth by means of an actively managed portfolio investing in all economic sectors in the Far East.
Capital growth is achieved through investing principally in equities, although cash and other securities may be held from time to time. The trust has a flexible approach to selection in addition to asset allocation.
The manager continues to believe that corporate restructuring and new technology will be a continuing theme in Asia. The portfolio is therefore naturally weighted in favour of Korea, Hong Kong / China and Taiwan.

The value of your investments and the income from them can go down as well as up, and you can get back less than you originally invested.
