Investment process

The fund is looking to invest in Asian equities with the total return mandate in mind. This is a pure stock picking fund, where managers aim to diversify away country exposure by buying index puts for countries they are negative about. Managers believe that stock prices longer term approximate the fair value of the companies, and therefor look for stocks that have upside to fair value.
Stock selection start with stock screening by Schroder analysts, who give a score of 1 to 4 to their ideas. Fund managers then perform tactical country screening which compliments the stock screen. Analyst recommendations provide ideas, while fund managers would personally visit the company and its operations before investing in the fund.
