The open-ended “Baring Eastern Europe Fund” is similar to the London-listed closed-ended investment trust “Baring Emerging Europe” (LSE:BEE) run by the same team.
The objective is to achieve long-term capital growth by investing in equities in emerging european markets including Russia, with the aim of achieving a high information ratio relative to a customised FTSE Eastern European Index.
The investment style can be said to be a mixture of top down and bottom up analysis with countries and companies assessed on five measures. These are growth, valuation, liquidity, currency and management.
