Aberdeen Global Equities Team
Stephen Docherty has been the head of Aberdeen’s Edinburgh-based global team since the end of 2002. He began his career in 1992 in Abbey National’s Department of Actuarial Services, before joining Aberdeen Asset Managers in 1994, where he established performance measurement procedures and worked with external performance verifiers. In 1998, he transferred to their Fort Lauderdale office to take up a fund management role. He worked with the Head of Latin American Investments, including specific responsibility for Latin American investments within Aberdeen's global equity funds. In 2000, he returned to Aberdeen's head office to take up a newly created role within Aberdeen's specialist global equity team. Docherty has a degree in Maths and Statistics from Aberdeen University.
