This fund can be considered the retail version of SVM's Saltire hedge fund; taking advantage of the UCITS III regulations to use derivatives to make money from falling as well as rising share prices. Saltire has produced strong returns in the time that Colin McLean has managed it using stock picking strategy, which has adapted to varying market conditions. The overall equity allocation of the fund will range between 50% net short and 100% net long.
