How does the service work?
1Define objectives
Our fully-qualified Investment Adviser will ask you to provide details of your current circumstances and help you define your investment objectives.
2Select your asset model
Once we have a good understanding of your objectives and appetite for risk, you will be assigned a personal asset model. Each model provides guidance on the optimal split between different types of assets (e.g. equities, fixed interest, property, commodities and cash), and the split of equities by geography and capitalisation (e.g. small versus large companies).
3Plan & develop your portfolio
Your Investment Advisers will work with you to identify how your existing investments compare with your asset model and help put in place a plan for redesigning your portfolio and highlighting poor performing investments. Portfolios are constructed using collective investments such as OEICs and Unit Trusts at their core. Your adviser can also discuss the benefits of investing within an ISA or SIPP.
4Review & maintain
You will have access to your own secure, online Client Centre where you will be
able to view all your investments at any time.
Who qualifies for this service?
- This service is generally offered at no additional charge to clients with fund portfolios in excess of £50,000 who appoint Bestinvest as their adviser

How much does the service cost?
- Bestinvest has negotiated no initial charges for its top-rated funds, meaning savings of as much as 5.25% compared with buying funds directly from a fund management company.
- Our advice and on-going services are paid for solely from trail commission received from fund managers. This is typically no more than 0.5% and is always clearly disclosed to all clients. This cost is already included within a fund’s annual charges; you will incur this charge even if you buy direct from a fund management company or from many other investment firms who don’t offer advice.
