Video: Mario Gabelli - Investing in US companies

New York-based Mario Gabelli manages our five-star rated GAM Star GAMCO US Equity fund. On a flying visit to London, the veteran investor, whose company has US$40 billion of assets under management, caught up with our US analyst Simon Moore to, in Gabelli’s own words, discuss his favourite subject: how to make money on the stock market.

In this video they discuss Gabelli’s investment philosophy and how his team seeks out companies where there is a catalyst that could trigger a rerating. They explain how Gabelli works with leading companies to encourage mergers and demergers, for example he played an instrumental part in the much talked about takeover of British chocolate company Cadbury by Kraft.
