Video: Thomas Moore investing in the UK with conviction

You can watch this new video interview with Standard Life’s Thomas Moore and Tom White, Senior Analyst to find out more about unconstrained investing, which is the approach Moore takes on the Standard Life UK Equity Income Unconstrained fund that he manages.

Moore explains how unconstrained investing is essentially ‘investing with conviction’. If he and the team have just as much conviction in a smaller company as they do in a larger one, they can not only invest in it but also hold it in just as big a position, too.

Moore discusses Reed Elsevier (the RELX Group), the publishing business that he has in the fund’s top 10 holdings, and the stocks that people might not expect from an income fund. Finally, he explains what he sees as ‘desynchronisation’ in the global economy – and why it might be a good time to invest in the UK stock market.

The value of all investments can go down as well as up and you can get back less than you originally invested.
