ISAs are a type of personal tax-efficient saving accounts which allow you to protect your investments from further tax. Each year the government sets an ISA allowance, which grows every year in accordance with inflation. The 2012/13 ISA allowance is £11,280, from April 6 2013 the new ISA allowance is £11,520.
