Video: What is Premier Selection?

In this video, Sally Merritt (Associate Director, Investment Advisory) introduces Bestinvest’s guide to our top-rated funds and gives you an overview of our extensive research process.

With so much choice available it can be difficult to pick the right investments for your ISA or pension. You will also find a lot of advertising and hype surrounding some funds, which is designed to attract potential investors but can hide the fact that many will fail to deliver over the long term – usually as a result of their fees.

Many people will consider past performance when choosing their next funds, but this is no guarantee of a good investment. Fund managers change jobs from time to time, so these returns may not have been earned by the same team of people. Instead, what really matters is a fund’s future outlook.

Bestinvest’s team of investment researchers is one of the largest and most respected in the industry, and alongside our statistical analysis we conduct over 400 face to face meetings with fund managers every year. We do this to complement our numbers with an understanding of how fund managers invest, how they deal with risk and their overall investment outlook.

The premier selection is our research team’s pick of rated funds from each investment sector. Every investment in our top-rated funds is rated from three to five stars, with a higher rating meaning a stronger confidence that the fund will perform well.

The value of investments can go down as well as up, and you can get back less than you originally invested. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns. This video does not constitute a personal recommendation or advice to invest.
