Low-cost SIPP charges
Our Best SIPP’s competitive costs and fees
With a long-term investment like a pension, charges can eat into your returns and significantly reduce the amount of money you have left for retirement. At Bestinvest we aim to keep our charges low and offer one of the lowest-cost SIPPs available, while also giving you the freedom and flexibility to build a pension that suits your needs.
Excellent value for money
We do not charge you to open a Best SIPP account, and we’ll also pay up to £500 for exit fees when you transfer your pensions to Bestinvest from another provider. There are also no online fund dealing fees and no initial charges on almost all funds.
As with other SIPP providers, we charge annual management fees and there are separate costs when buying certain funds or dealing shares and investment trusts. We also charge a fee for drawdown and other retirement planning services, and for transferring out or closing your account. Our aim is to make our charges transparent, so when you invest with us you can see exactly what you are paying for.

Tiered service fees
||Tiered fee (per account)
|Up to £250,000
|£250,000 - £1 million
|Over £1 million
At Bestinvest we use a tiered structure for our Best SIPP annual management charges, meaning you pay a smaller percentage for larger investments. Saving for retirement is one of the most important financial challenges faced by our clients, which is why we charge lower service fees for our low-cost SIPP than our ISA and general investment accounts. If you invest your pension in a Ready-made Portfolio you will pay no SIPP service fees at all.
Competitive share-dealing costs
||Charge per deal
|Online purchase of UK shares*
||£7.50 per trade regardless of size and frequency
||See table above
We aim to give you market-leading value with access to UK-listed shares, no inactivity fees and a flat fee of £7.50 per deal regardless of the size or frequency of your trades.
Please note that the Government also charges a Stamp Duty Reserve Tax of 0.5% on the purchase of all UK-listed shares, as well as a £1 PTM (Panel on Takeovers and Mergers) levy on all UK share deals.
*Telephone orders are priced at £75.00 per deal.
How do we collect fees?
We collect our SIPP management charges on a monthly basis in arrears. The money will automatically be taken from your SIPP account balance, or if you have no cash in your account we will sell units in your largest fund holding to cover the cost. Other charges such as those for share dealing or setting up flexible drawdown are payable immediately.
New income drawdown charges
With no minimum income requirements, drawdown has now become a much more attractive option for many savers approaching retirement. We know that fees have the potential to eat away at your returns over the long term, which is why we have released new lower prices for flexi-access drawdown in the Best SIPP.

SIPPs are not suitable for everyone. If you don’t want to invest across different asset classes or don’t think you will make use of the investment choices that SIPPs give you then a SIPP might not be right for you. Self-directed investors should regularly review their SIPP portfolio, or seek professional advice, to ensure that the underlying investments remain in line with their pension objectives. Prevailing tax rates and the availability of tax reliefs are dependent on your individual circumstances and are subject to change. Please note the term Best is a brand name of the Bestinvest SIPP.
