Give us your goals - episode 3 with Terry Waite

We know goals are good. But what do they look like for everyone else? Best-selling author and TV presenter Kirsty Gallacher has joined forces with Bestinvest and former BBC Radio 5 Live producer Guy Kilty to produce the Give Us Your Goals podcast series. Kirsty talks to some of Britain’s biggest household names to understand what goals means to them. They tell us about the good, the bad and the ugly because let’s face it, we don’t always reach that end goal.

Episode background

Kirsty speaks to the humanitarian campaigner and best-selling author, Terry Waite, whose life changed forever in 1987 when he was captured and held hostage in Beirut. Since his release, Terry has written several books, including Taken on Trust, an account of his time in captivity, and become a patron of a number of charitable causes. In their conversation, Terry tells Kirsty he was always motivated to try and help those less fortunate than himself, and explains why he thinks every tragic event can sow the seeds for good things in the future.

Helping you to set goals

Bestinvest has a Give Us Your Goals fund worth £20,000 and is offering four £5,000 cash prizes to four lucky people who are keen to set their next goal.

We’re inviting you to tell us about the journey you’ve been on to achieve a lifelong goal. What did you achieve and how did you do it? It’s OK if you didn’t succeed, what did you learn? Did you achieve what you set out to do or end up having to reset and move onto something else?
